Invasive Plant Management

With Amanda Devine, Ted Elliman, and Chris Polatin
Thursday, March 14th from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Join us for a deeply informative seminar that will evaluate the topic of invasive plant management. New England is facing the challenge of invasive plants, which are overwhelming native and designed landscapes. This seminar will focus on the many questions and uncertainties around this challenge, including how to become qualified to manage invasive plants and serve a need in the landscape-service industry. With elevated concerns for herbicides, including glyphosate, there are mixed messages about how to manage invasive plants responsibly and effectively.

This course will elaborate on the facts, considerations, and future of these species, as well as present some of the best strategies to limit or prevent the onset of invasive plants in Maine and throughout New England’s landscape.

This class counts for 3 credits towards license certification from the Maine Board of Pesticides Control, Northeast Organic Farming Association's Organic Land Care Program, and the Maine Landscape and Nursery Association.
