Our keynote speaker will be Dr. T. Bella Dinh-Zarr, Board Member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Throughout her career, Dr. Dinh-Zarr has been known for her philosophy that highway safety is a public health issue. She has been in the forefront of efforts to improve roadway safety throughout the world, to increase mobility for older citizens, to advance the use of seat belts and to reduce alcohol-related accidents.
Before being appointed to the NTSB board in 2015, Dr. Dinh-Zarr worked with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the American Automobile Association and the Texas Transportation Institute. She is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas and has master of public health (MPH) and PhD degrees from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
Other technical and policy track discussions will examine a range of topics, from Colorado’s groundbreaking Road X system launched this fall and system-wide advances on Maine’s highways to efforts to improved work zone, railroad, bike-ped and autonomous vehicle safety.
